About The Artist:
| Good day to all fellow dog and tractor lovers. I am your artist, Kelley Kay Badgerow, who is best known as K.Kay. To begin I thought I would let you know why I use KKay to sign all my artwork and figurine painting. I use to sign my artwork with my initials or full name when I began to sell my artwork, when I was eighteen. When I got married to my first husband my initials, to me and possibly african-americans, became a little offensive... KKK and to sign it with my new full name was lengthy. I came up with K. Kay due to the fact that during my grade school years everyone called me Kelley Kay since I was never the only Kelley / Kelly in my class. I thought of using Kelley Kay then pondered everyone would mistake my last name as Kay. The double K was simple and a bit more unique and from around 1989 to present I have signed my artwork and figurines with it. | ||||
| I am one of those true dog lovers. Dogs have always been apart of my life since I can remember. My husband and I raised coonhounds for over 12 years and also took in unwanted purebred dogs and found them new homes. During this time I was a full time doggy mom and had several "off" coonhound breeds stay with us - Rottweilers, German Shorthaired Pointers, Basset Hounds, and Bloodhounds to just name a few. I spent most of my days with the real dogs and spent most of my nights painting them. My husband and I are now retired from caring for this many yet we still have three children, Sasha (the Dachshund), Zena (the Black and Tan Coonhound), and Bones (the Bluetick Coonhound). We lost Beaut (seen in the first picture), Bone's sibiling, to mammary cancer in 2009 - she was ten years old. |

| I was raised in Michigan and moved to Iowa in 1990. Living in the heartland and being married to the twelfth generation of livestock farmers I can not pass up painting rural landscape and farm machinery. My husband, for the most part, adorns the Farmall International Harvester brand of tractors and being I love "things old" I began creating artwork on saw blades and saws with antique tractors back in 1993. Today I have become known as the "tractor queen" to most of my artist peers and I now offer original antique farm tractor / machinery trading card art (A.C.E.O), small format art, saw blade and saw art. | ||||
| I have been an artist since I could hold a crayon. My artistic abilities are God given with years and years of practice. I have been a professional artist since the age of eighteen years of age (I am now Forty). I exhibit both my fine artwork and hand-painted ceramic figurines locally every year - when ever possible. I have won premium awards in both categories for over thirteen years. As a self-taught fine artist I developed my own unique style using a blend of realism, impression, and folk; sometimes leaning one way or the other. As a figurine painter / artist I can not do anything simple... I create life like figurines and when able I add in impression colors to rocks, trees, bases and etc. for a little artistic freedom. | ||||
